TLC helping Kopecky after fire destroyed her home

Members of Trinity Lutheran Church invite all area residents to a fundraiser next Sunday, March 16, to benefit Keisha Kopecky, whose Grand Junction home was destroyed in a Jan. 28 fire.

Organizers are planning a silent auction, supper, and kitchen shower from 5 to 7 pm at the church, located at 801 W. Lincoln Way in Jefferson.

Donations for the silent auction can be dropped off at the church Monday through Thursday in the morning, Saturday between 9 am and 5 pm, and Sunday before 4 pm.

The supper menu includes chili, chicken noodle soup, chili dogs, salads, desserts and beverages.

Keisha lost all household belongings in the fire, so organizers are helping her replace kitchen items. Gifts of dishes, silverware, cookware, cooking utensils, cookbooks, paper products, food or spices are suggested.

All donations will go to Keisha, with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans matching up to $800. For more information, or to learn additional ways to help, email loistlc@netins.net, or call Lois at 515-386-5259.

The house sustained major damage as well as smoke and water damage throughout. The siding on the neighbor's garage (right) was also damaged.
